The Larcomar

The Larcomar is a shopping center on a cliff above the coast of Lima, made up of over 70 shops with a view of the great blue. You’ll find everything from high-end clothing to Peruvian crafts, as well as a cinema, arcade, bowling alley, and discos. Larcomar stores tend to be more expensive than others in the Miraflores District, but it retains its popularity for its variety, open-air environment, and seafront location. You should stop by the Larcomar if you have a little time before starting or ending your adventures in Peru.

Shopping

The Larcomar offers plenty of international stores, but considering you’re on a trip to Peru, you’ll want to snag something memorable. A couple popular Peruvian brands include Kuna, which sells clothes made of quality alpaca fleece, and the silver jewelry store Ilaria. Mall walking can work up an appetite, so there are several restaurants and bars overlooking the ocean. Try pollo a la brasa at Pardo’s or a variety of chocolates at La Iberica.

What’s nearby?

Larcomar is just above Playa (Beach) Redondo. The water is gentle and shallow by the shore, which makes for great swimming or paddling. It’s free and always open, so go for a swim before hitting the mall or take a stroll on the sand after a satisfying meal.
