DAY 1: OSLO, NORWAY

Welcome to Norway! Join us for a welcome dinner at an elegant restaurant downtown.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to visit a museum downtown. There are many to choose from. Good examples include the Viking Ship Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum, Polar Ship Fram Museum, Norsk Folkemuseum, Munch Museum.

If museums aren't your thing, you may wish to take a walk around the vast Vigeland Sculpture Park & Garden, or take a stroll downtown for a visit of the murals at City Hall or the famous Nobel Peace Center. The choice is yours!

DAY 2: BODØ | MOSKENES | REINE, LOFOTEN ISLANDS

Today, you go north of the arctic circle! This morning you'll be transferred to the airport for a flight to the seaside town of Bodø (1h 30m). You'll eat lunch at a harbor restaurant overlooking the Norwegian Sea. After lunch you'll get on a ferry bound for the magical Lofoten Islands! Near the end of your journey into the Norwegian Sea (4h), the jagged, mountainous peaks of the Lofoten Islands will slowly be revealed. Once you've gathered yourself after the stunning revelation of the Lofoten Islands, you'll be transferred to your Norwegian rorbu in the quaint seaside village of Reine.

DAY 3: REINE: VINDSTAD - BRUNAKSLTINDEN - BUNES BEACH

This morning starts off with a short, 25 minute ferry ride through the beautiful Kirkefjord, which takes you to Vindstad, the launching point of your first day of hiking in the Moskenesøya island of the Lofoten archipelago.

Your first destination will be the rugged Brunakseltinden, a mountain with vast views of the surrounding islands and adjoining fjords. After summiting the small peak (Tinden), you'll descend to Bunes Beach for a picnic lunch.

After a short rest and a good lunch you'll hike back to Vindstad where you'll take the ferry back to Reine for the evening. Your total hiking time for today will be 4-5 hours.

DAY 4: NUSFJORD: KIRKEFJORD - SELFJORD

Today's journey starts off with a 15 minute ferry ride to Kirkefjord.

After getting off the ferry from Reine, you'll start an adventurous hike to Selfjord, crossing 3 passes, which provide spectacular views of large, granite walls (6h).

Transfer to Nusfjord for an evening meal and a cozy rorbu (30m).

DAY 5: NUSFJORD: RYTEN - KVALVIKA BEACH

A visit to Nusjord wouldn't be complete without a cultural tour of its traditional, harbor village. You'll enjoy learning about the historical foundations of this small fishing community (1h 30m).

Today's hiking route will take you to Ryten, a cliffside mountain with a spectacular view overlooking Kvalvika Beach (3h). If there's time you can take a side trip down to the Kvalvika Beach itself (2h).

Transfer back to Nusfjord for an evening meal and a cozy rorbu (15m).

Depending on time, interest, and availability, you can enjoy a refreshing, Norwegian sauna experience in Nusfjord.

DAY 6: LEKNES: NUSFJORD - NAPP

This morning you'll leave Moskenesøya Island and head to Flakstadøya Island for a long and interesting hike from Nusfjord to the small Lofoten town of Napp (5-6h).

Transfer to your hotel in Leknes for an evening meal (10m).

During the summer months (June/July), you'll enjoy the seemingly endless midnight sun at Haukland Beach, a 15 minute drive from your hotel.

DAY 7: STAMSUND: JUSTADTINDEN

Today's exciting hike takes you to the summit of Justadtinden, a prominent peak with reaching views (5-6h).

Transfer to Stamsund for an evening meal and a nice night in a hotel (10m).

DAY 8: MOSKENES | BODØ | ÅLESUND

Your Lofoten Islands hiking adventure comes to an end for now (until next time). After an early breakfast, you'll be transferred back to Moskenes from Stamsund (1h 30m).

Board the Moskenes ferry to return to Bodø (4h).

After returning to Bodø, you'll be transferred to the airport for a regional flight to Alësund, the land of Norway's famous fjords.

Transfer to your hotel for an evening meal and a well deserved night sleep.

DAY 9: JUVET

After a brief walking tour of Alësund's Art Nouveau center, you'll be transferred to Juvet, stopping along the way for short scenic sights (3h).

Juvet's gem is the unique Landscape Hotel, which blends modern architectural design and decor with the natural environment, something which many hotels attempt to do but fall short of. Juvet's Landscape Hotel succeeds. Enjoy the spa. Rest in nature.

Dinner will be served at the hotel's upscale restaurant.

DAY 10: JUVET - GEIRANGER FJORD

A leisurely morning encourages you to fully take in all that Juvet's Landscape Hotel can offer.

After a peaceful start to your day you'll take an afternoon hike through Juvet's forested mountains.

Transfer to--arguably--the most famous fjord in Norway: Geirangerfjord (1h 30m). Admire the massive granite walls and deep ocean water.

Transfer to your hotel for an evening meal and a good night's rest.

DAY 11: GEIRANGERFJORD - ÅLESUND

A trip to Geiranger fjord wouldn't be complete without a short hike to visually take it all in. You'll have the chance to enjoy the deep canyon's view during the morning hours after breakfast.

This afternoon you'll board the famous Hurtigruten cruise ship for an unforgettable journey down the Geiranger fjord to Ålesund.

After arriving in Ålesund you'll be transferred to your hotel for an evening meal and a night's rest.

DAY 12: OSLO | DEPART

Our backcountry tour of Norway's Lofoten Islands sadly ends after breakfast.

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Oslo in order to catch your international flight home. Enjoy your flight home as you ponder the newly formed memories of nature's wildness.
