DAY 1: BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY!
Board your overnight flight to Europe (not included)
DAY 2: WELCOME TO DUBLIN
A Volant representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner and a leisurely evening.
DAY 3: DUBLIN’S HIGHLIGHTS
Sightseeing tour takes you to Georgian squares, Irish President’s home, O’Connell Street, and the Customs House. Optional guided tour of the world-famous drink Guinness; learn the history of how it became Ireland’s national drink. The afternoon is yours to explore, shop, or rest.
DAY 4: STAND WITH GIANTS – LONDONDERRY
Enjoy a captivating drive up the Antrim Coast. Visit the larger-than-life Giants Causeway, with its towering basalt cliffs and dramatic geometric formations. Hear the legends of how these curious formations came to be, and learn some modern science too. Continue on the the ancient walled city of Derry.
DAY 5: LONDONDERRY – BELLEEK – SLIGO BAY
Sightseeing tour of Londonderry’s fortified ramparts, still topped with cannons; Shipquay Street; and Gothic Guildhall. Cross into Ireland via the Northern Ireland border. Travel to Donegal to see O’Donnell’s Castle. Visit the Belleek Pottery centre situated on the River Erne. Watch master craftsmen practice their craft as they demonstrate artisan techniques. Continue south to the churchyard at Drumcliff, the final resting place of the unparalleled Irish poet WB Yeats. After getting inspired by poets of old, continue on to Sligo Bay.
DAY 6: CONNEMARA – GALWAY – LIMERICK
A journey through the rugged and striking beauty of Connemara leads to Galway. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through St. Nicholas Cathedral (site where Christopher Columbus prayed before discovering America), the Spanish Arch, and Eyre Square (dedicated to the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy). Travel to the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Check out O’Brien’s Tower and the 214m drop to the rough waters below. Head south to your hotel in Limerick, land of lyrics, lace, and rhymes.
DAY 7: ADARE – KILLARNEY
(Relaxed Start) A sightseeing tour shows you infamous King John’s Castle, St. Mary’s Cathedral, and the Treaty Stone. Enjoy a scenic journey through the land of song and legend via the quaint village of Adare. Take an optional tour of the 15th century Ross Castle or the 19th century Muckross Mansion and Gardens. Enjoy a leisurely evening.
DAY 8: RING OF KERRY EXCURSION
Travel the Ring of Kerry, one of the world’s most scenic byways. Take in the abundant natural beauty: massive cliffs, intertwined lakes and lands, quaint villages, and Ireland’s highest mountain range. See the three Lakes of Killarney. The afternoon hours are yours to fully take in this natural place. Perhaps hire a bicycle to explore the village of Killarney or the adjoining National Park.
DAY 9: BLARNEY CASTLE – CORK – WATERFORD
Cross the rugged Derrynasaggart Mountains and head for Blarney. Take a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone, a.k.a., the Stone of Eloquence. You never know, it just might work. Head to Cork, Ireland’s second most populous city, built on the River Lee. Check out City Hall, the Courthouse, and St. Finbarr’s Cathedral. A wonderful coastal drive takes you to the ancient town of Waterford. At Waterford, you’re welcomed by 9th century Reginald’s Tower and the old city walls.
DAY 10: WATERFORD CRYSTAL – KILKENNY – DUBLIN
Witness firsthand the mastery of world famous crystal craftsmen at the House of Waterford Crystal. If interested, you’ll have a chance to purchase one of the handcrafted treasures. Get on the road and head towards Dublin, Ireland’s capital. Enjoy a leisurely evening relaxing, exploring, or taking in a famous Irish Cabaret show.
DAY 11: ONWARD HOME
Our Irish journey comes to an end after breakfast. Travel home safe!
