DAY 1: BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY!

Board your overnight flight to Europe (not included).

DAY 2: WELCOME TO REYKJAVIK

A Volant representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Take a relaxing walk through the streets of downtown Reykjavik. Take in the shops, the culture, and the historic harbor. Enjoy a welcome dinner and a leisurely evening.

DAY 3: ICELAND’S HIGHLIGHT: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

Take a ride through the countryside to Þingvellir National Park. Situated in a rift valley, Þingvellir marks the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. If you’re bold and brave, you can try scuba diving deep inside the tectonic fissure separating the two continental plates, while simultaneously touching Europe with one hand and North America with the other. Continue your journey to the geothermal Strokkur Geysur. Erupting as high as 20 meters and as often as 7 to 8 minutes, this natural phenomenon is bound to wow you. The highlight of the day goes to the uniquely formed Gulfoss waterfall. After taking in the beauty of falling water in a vast landscape, continue on to Hvolsvollur for the night.

DAY 4: SELJALANDSFOSS – SKOGAFOSS – SOLHEIMASANDUR PLANE WRECK – VIK

Visit two of the most iconic waterfalls in all of Iceland: Seljalandsfoss and the massive Skogafoss. Short hikes to each waterfall are refreshing and offer spectacular views. Try and spot the many gulls high up on the cliff’s edge. After enjoying the waterfalls, you’ll be transferred to a short hike over one of the finest black sand beaches in all of Iceland. At the water’s edge, explore the wrecked DC-3 plane. Transfer to your hotel at Vik.

DAY 5: REYNISDRANGER BLACK SAND BEACH – FJADRARGLJUFUR – SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK – HOF

Start the day off at the beach. Explore the curious columnar basalt formations and cave at the water’s edge. Off the coast, the towering, freestanding pillars of basalt are mysterious and potent. Take a short ride along the coast to the ominous canyon: Fjaðrárgljúfur. The jagged rock and misty landscape of this unique canyon give it a surreal and sublime effect. Continue on to one of the most spectacular views of all of Iceland: Skaftafelljokull. Skaftafell National Park, named after the enormous glacier, encompasses some of the most awe-inspiring vistas. Transfer to your stylish and upscale hotel at Hof.

DAY 6: FJALLSARLON GLACIER LAGOON – JOKULSARLON GLACIER LAGOON – DIAMOND BEACH – HOF

Today is a day of water and ice. You’ll get a chance to get up close and personal with massive chunks of broken glacier ice. We’ll start with a short drive to Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon. After attempting to internalize the beauty of blue ice, transfer to Jokullsarlon where you’ll be taken further down the road of awe. Watch the coastal tide manipulate building-size icebergs like play things, as if they didn’t weigh thousands of tons. Leaving the glacier lagoon, we’ll follow the river that connects to the Atlantic Ocean. On Diamond Beach, you’ll find hundreds of stranded icebergs, standing still on the black sand. After posing with these chunks of ice, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Hof.

DAY 7: HOF – REYKJAVIK

Enjoy a leisurely morning and a relaxed start. Take in the sunrise over the vast coastline. Drive back to Reykjavik. Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner in Reykjavik.

DAY 8: KIRKJUFELLSFOSS – GRUNDAFJORDUR

Enjoy another leisurely morning with a relaxed start. If you’re so inclined, use the morning hours to visit a cultural or natural historical museum. Take a stroll around the iconic Reykjavik church. Be sure to admire the proud statue of Leif Erikson in front of the church. After your brief free time in Reykjavik, you’ll take a drive to Gundafjordur on the Snaefellsness Peninsula. Visit the most photographed landscape in all of Iceland: Kirkjufellsfoss with Kirkufell mountain in the background. Stay in Grundafjordur for the night.

DAY 9: SNAEFELLSNESS NATIONAL PARK – REYKJAVIK

A relaxed start heads us towards Snaefellsness National Park, one of the most iconic national parks in all of Iceland. Enjoy the vast landscapes and the towering, glaciated volcano: Snaefellsjokull. A leisure drive through the countryside takes us back to Reykjavik.

DAY 10: REYKJANES PENINSULA – BLUE LAGOON – DEPART

As you prepare for your departure flight, take an optional swim in the crystal blue waters of the geothermal pool at the Blue Lagoon. Our adventurous journey comes to an end. Transfer to the Keflavik International Airport. Travel home safe!
