Kathmandu, Nepal

Kathmandu has a rich history and an ancient culture. Each tour we offer throughout Nepal starts and finishes in Kathmandu, which makes tours through the ancient city a must-do.

Since Kathmandu offers so much by way of history, culture, food, architecture, etc., we break up our tours into sections. There are six main areas that can be seen while in Kathmandu:

Each location listed above has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a privilege to travel back in time by visiting these spiritual locations.

While staying in Kathmandu, you’ll have opportunities to explore other worthwhile sites, depending upon your liking:

  • Thamel: a touristy shopping neighborhood full of gifts, souvenirs, and great restaurants
  • Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP): learn about how to travel through the Himalayas like an environmentally responsible tourist. Learn about environmental cleanup projects and how you can get involved.
  • Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation: learn the laws of the land and how the precious environment is being cared for.
  • Narayanhity Palace Museum: once a residential and workplace mansion in central Kathmandu for the reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Nepal. Now it is a museum for visitors.

Join us as we explore Kathmandu’s highlights!

“If you want to change the world, first try to improve and bring about change within yourself. That will help change your family. From there it just gets bigger and bigger. Everything we do has some effect, some impact.”
Dalai Lama
