DAY 1: BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY!

Board your overnight flight to Africa (not included).

DAY 2: WELCOME TO NAIROBI, KENYA!
A Volant representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner and a leisurely evening.
DAY 3: MOUNT KENYA – OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY
Hop aboard a private vehicle for a three hour road trip to Nanyuki for sweeping views of Mount Kenya. As the highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest in all of Africa, after Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya and its surrounding national park have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Use the second half of the day to tour the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Conservancy is renown as being the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Be sure to introduce yourself to Sudan, the world’s last male white rhino. In partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute, Ol Pejeta has established the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Track lions, stroll through the bush, spot an elephant, enrich the lives of the rehabilitated mammals and get your safari on!
DAY 4: THOMSONS FALLS – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Continue through the Kenyan countryside to the town of Nyahururu. Take the opportunity to see Thomson’s Falls or hike to the bottom for a closer look and a refreshing mist. Use the second part of the day to transfer and explore Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way look west for views of the massive Menengai Crater. Continue to the national park for some of the best birdwatching in the world. Depending on the season, Lake Nakuru will have anywhere from thousands to millions of Flamingos nesting along the shores. In addition to the large Flamingo population there are 450 different bird species that call this park home.
DAY 5-6: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy a scenic road trip through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Also referred to as the Mara Triangle, this national reserve is home to all of the “Big Five” (African elephant, Black rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, African lion and African leopard). Expect a late arrival but enjoy the vast landscapes and wildlife along the way. If time permits enjoy an evening game drive.

Rise early for a morning game drive. Observe the beginning of a new day through the eyes of the 3 million large animals that live in the reserve. Witness the Great Migration, meet the indigenous Maasai people, and continue to be amazed by the unique cultural and natural beauty of the Great Rift Valley. Spend time between game drives relaxing and exploring the camp.

DAY 7-8: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After a relaxed morning take a short game viewing drive and head towards the airstrip. Board a sightseeing flight that takes you over the reserve and back to Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through Southern Kenya to Amboseli National Park. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure and explore the camp. Relax and prepare yourself for the adventure that awaits you in Tanzania.

Enjoy an early morning cup of Kenyan coffee or tea and depart the camp for an early morning game drive. Amboseli is famous for being the best place in Africa to get up close to the thousands of elephants that live here. Use your free time throughout the day to learn about the indigenous Maasai culture; buy a handmade souvenir or visit the Maasai Village. In the evening watch the sun kiss the mighty Kilimanjaro and sip on a sun-downer.

DAY 9: ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Depart Amboseli and cross into Tanzania at the Namanga Border. Proceed to Arusha for lunch. Continue to Lake Manyara National Park for the night. This park is famous for its tree’climbing lions, the only kind of their species in the world, as well as containing the largest concentration of baboons. This area offers an incredible array of ecological variations due to the ground water from the lake. The national park is rich in wildlife and a great place to bird watch.
DAY 10: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
Continue west along the Great Rift Valley to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The conservation area encompasses the large grassy plains on the southern side of the Serengeti. The main feature of this area is the world’s largest volcanic caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater was made one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in 2013 and is home to a dense population of the “Big 5” mammals. Enjoy a picnic overlooking the vast green crater. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.
DAY 11-12: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After a relaxed morning transfer to the famous Serengeti National Park. Get settled at camp and join in on an afternoon game drive. The plains of the Serengeti are always thick in wildlife. Over a million wildebeest as well as thousands of zebra search for better grazing areas during their Great Migration. This mass movement of land animals is considered to be the largest in the world and has in fact been listed as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Enjoy a full day following the migration, keeping in mind that the local predators aren’t too far behind. Large Nile crocodiles infest the rivers and patiently await the migration of their dinner. Watch as all three of Africas big cats (lions, cheetahs & leopards) play with their food and nap under the African sun.

Soak in those final moments on the last game drive as the trip comes to its end. In the evening enjoy one last sundowner and recount your favorite safari scenes.
