Aconcagua, 22,838 ft. (6961m), is the tallest mountain in South America, both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and it is the tallest mountain outside the Himalayas Range. It is the second tallest mountain of the 7 Summits. It is situated west of Mendoza, Argentina, the typical expedition launching point.
